I'm a CPA turned UX designer with a background in financial statement audits and technical accounting advisory. I spent 5 1/2 years at KPMG where I specialized in solving transaction-driven accounting challenges throughout the corporate acquisitions process. During this role, I found a powerful new way to understand problems and create solutions through design thinking. This is when I discovered the field of UX where I was drawn to creating intuitive experiences that empower users. In early 2020, I took a leap of faith and left the world of accounting to pursue my passion for UX design.
The initial plan was to attend an in-person UX bootcamp, but the pandemic turned that plan upside down. Instead, I blazed a path forward by curating my own UX bootcamp curriculum with a rigorous schedule of online coursework + multiple design sprints/case studies which I then executed over the following 4 months. Fast forward through 15+ online UX/Design courses, numerous design projects, and over 700+ hours of work later; here I am today. A UX designer, energetic collaborator, business leader, and big-picture design thinker who enjoys crafting the details.
